Catalyst Prep is built on a simple loop: Practice → Analyze → Improve. To make this loop work, we need data. This policy explains exactly what data we collect and how we use it to generate the insights that improve your score.

We believe in transparency. We only collect what is necessary to power your preparation and improvement.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Identity: Name and email address (via Google Auth or direct signup)
  • Payment Data: Transaction ID and date (processed securely by Razorpay; we do not store card details)

2.2 Performance Data (The "Signal")

To generate your analytics and insights, we track:

  • Test Activity: Questions attempted, time spent per question, and selected answers
  • Reflections: Your inputs on "Why did I get this wrong?" (e.g., Silly Mistake, Conceptual Gap)
  • Navigation: How you move through the test interface to analyze your exam strategy

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

  • Power the Engine: specific analysis like "Score Waterfall", "Time Efficiency", and "Strategic Evolution" graphs
  • Maintain Service: Manage your plan and account access
  • Improve the Platform: Anonymized performance data helps us calibrate question difficulty and improve our algorithms

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services only for essential infrastructure:

  • Authentication: NextAuth (Google)
  • Payments: Razorpay
  • Hosting & Database: Vercel & MongoDB

5. Data Retention

We retain your performance data to build your long-term "Strategic Evolution" graphs. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you can request this via the Help section in your dashboard.
